commitment to the planet
Carrier believes that there is no real development without a commitment to the environment. For this reason, the brand is a pioneer in adopting policies and actions to reduce damage and preserve natural resources such as water and energy.
The company was the first to adopt air conditioning systems which use refrigerants that are not harmful to the ozone layer, even back in the 90s, and developed NaturaLINE ™: a natural refrigeration system, which ensures unconditional protection to the environment.
Carrier was also one of the first in the world to set targets for reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions at all of its plants around the world.
These efforts have been recognized with several awards, including the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award "Best of the Best", offered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and National Award for Conservation and Rational Use of Energy, industry category, coordinated by CNI (Brazilian’s Industry National Confederation). Carrier is the first air conditioning system manufacturer to join the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Leaders Program in the United States.

In 2010 Carrier launched the CO2NSERVATION meter.
The tool calculates the greenhouse gas emissions avoided by installing sustainable air conditioning, heating and cooling systems around the world.
Thanks to investment in research, in 1994 Carrier launched
the first air conditioning systems that use refrigerants which are not harmful to the ozone layer.
In 2010, the company implemented the world's first natural refrigeration technology: NaturaLINE ™.
The system uses the natural carbon dioxide refrigerant, which guarantees unconditional protection to the environment.
